ABOUT me

The process of making art has always captivated me—from thoughtfully observing objects and studying structure, to understanding how light and anatomy work, and applying those concepts with intention. When I’m creating, the best version of myself naturally shines through. I feel passionate, energized, and driven. It’s where I feel most at home.

My name is Maria Elena, originally from the Dominican Republic, I hold a BFA in 3D Character Animation and I'm currently expanding my skills through lighting courses at the Academy of Animated Art. I'm also part of a mentorship program with Lighting Artist Jeremy Vickery, which continues to be an incredibly inspiring and enriching experience.

Beyond animation and illustration, I love dancing, singing, and exploring subjects like project management, history and languages. I find joy in learning, expression, and connection.

values

Grit

To me, grit is one of the most important qualities a person can have. It’s the persistence to keep going, even when things get tough, and the ability to stay grounded in your “why.” It’s what has brought me this far and what continues to drive me toward my goals.

EMPATHY

Being understood is a fundamental part of the human experience. I strive to create environments—both in life and in teams—where people feel safe, seen, and heard.

iNTEGRITY

To me, integrity means closing the gap between actions and words. When your mindset and behavior are in sync, progress becomes inevitable.
